Frequently asked questions
The short honest answers. If something's missing, tell us on the Ideas page.
Is soul-ro really free?
Yes. The full reading — your element balance, persona, character, life roadmap and year forecast — is free for everyone, with no sign-up. Signing in with Google only adds cross-device backup and a reading history list.
Is this the same as Western astrology?
No. Western astrology reads planet positions against the zodiac. soul-ro is built on the five-element system of Eastern astrology, which reads your birth year, month, day and hour as a balance of Tree, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water. Different math, different tradition — we just translate it into plain modern English.
Why does my reading never change?
Because it's computed by a fixed set of rules from your birth details, not generated fresh each time. Same birthday, same reading — always. We think a reading that changes every visit isn't a reading, it's a horoscope slot machine.
Do I need my exact birth time?
No. Birth date alone gives you the full reading. Adding your birth time and city makes the hour portion more precise — the city matters because the same clock time in Irvine and Seoul is a different solar time, and that can shift the reading.
What is the friend map?
Every reading comes with one invite link. Send it to anyone — they add their own birthday (no sign-up) and you both get a chemistry breakdown with match scores for romance, friendship and work. Your map grows as people join, and higher scores literally sit closer to you.
Can my friends see my birth details?
No. Friends who join through your link enter their own birth details, and those stay visible only to them. You see their nickname and your match scores — never their birthday.
What do you do with my data?
As a guest, your birth details stay in your own browser. If you sign in, they're saved to your account so your history follows you. We never sell personal data and never share birth details with advertisers. The full story is in our privacy policy.
Who makes soul-ro?
soul-ro is made by sowulo, a small team that likes old Eastern math and new internet humor in equal measure. The site is free and supported by ads.
